Week one- Bad hair day

My first week was going full steam. The compliments continued. The squinted eyed looks which pretty much insinuated ," What is she doing to her hair" were still sprinkled about but overall.... Great feedback about my hair.

I still don't have the products that makes my hair smile. I received a sample of a product that I did like..... Until I saw 16oz of the product cost $58.00. Yea 58 damn dollars. WHAT THE HELL!! My hair ain't gonna be that happy. Loved my first cowash and made me a wonderful avocado and mayo conditioner. HOWEVER THAT SMELL OF MAYO??!!??? Lets just say.... Won't be doing that conditioner again.

Monday...  I got the brilliant idea. Why not use Jheri curl rods instead of doing the Bantu Knot. Excited, I two strand twisted and put my rods on the end and went to sleep. Tuesday morning I woke up EXCITED!!!! My thought,"These curls bout to be bomb!!"

NOT!!!!!! It was a complete flop. Instead of curls I had waves that were dry and appeared like mini dreads on a fro! EPIC FAIL!!!! But what could I do. It's 3:40am and I needed to leave at 4am to take the train to work. I applied my make up, put on my earrings and still it looked a HOT ASS MESS!! I stood there in that mirror and said out loud..." So this is a bad hair day?" It was horrible, atrocious, a big ass reddish brown dry mop on my head and I have to go to work. No amount of lip gloss was gonna make this look better.

I grabbed my purse and ran to the car with my coffee to be dropped off at the train station. My son had to be half sleep because he didn't mutter a word. As I walked to the steps that lead to the platform I said to myself," Okay Daphne, you are having a bad hair day. Congrats on the first of many. You knew this wasn't gonna be easy so get over it!"

I got on that train head high, shoulders back and lip gloss poppin because no one was gonna know I royally messed up. If anything..... People are gonna think I did this on purpose even though, inside I was a 3 years old screaming," DONT LOOK AT ME!"
(Me 4:30am waiting on the bus)

The day progressed and I wore my smile and acted as if nothing was wrong with my hair. Heavens knows I could not wait to get home and fix this mess on my head. 2:30 could not arrive soon enough.

Making it home was the best feeling on earth. Walking in the door my daughter first comment was," Tried something new huh?" All I could do was laugh. So what was my lesson learned????? NEVER TRY NEW THINGS ON A WORK NIGHT
