Ayurvedic Powders

I have wore my hair in its natural form for a couple days shy of a month. I must say it has been interesting and a learning experience trying to adapt to my curls. Honestly, I never thought I had it in me to wear my hair in its natural state. I must be 100% honest.... It is time consuming. Nothing about my hair is easy. The Bantu Knot out is definitely my go to hair style. I love the way it curls my hair however, doing the knots daily is not the business. Taking them out every morning isn't either. I found myself almost being late to work each day. So I decided to put my hair back in braids for 6-8 weeks.
Yep... Boring old braids again but jeesh Louise!!!! I didn't have the time to keep doing my hair. My goal is length retention therefore I must get my hands out my hair everyday so it can grow

The regimen

During my research I found that each seasoned natural has stated I must have a regimen.  So I "Got my life" and my budget and invested in two products. After much research I decided to start with Kinky Curl and Shea Moisture.

I got a co-wash and restorative conditioner from Shea Moisture and a leave in and curl custard from Kinky curly which both came highly recommended.

Week one- Bad hair day

My first week was going full steam. The compliments continued. The squinted eyed looks which pretty much insinuated ," What is she doing to her hair" were still sprinkled about but overall.... Great feedback about my hair.

I still don't have the products that makes my hair smile. I received a sample of a product that I did like..... Until I saw 16oz of the product cost $58.00. Yea 58 damn dollars. WHAT THE HELL!! My hair ain't gonna be that happy. Loved my first cowash and made me a wonderful avocado and mayo conditioner. HOWEVER THAT SMELL OF MAYO??!!??? Lets just say.... Won't be doing that conditioner again.

Monday...  I got the brilliant idea. Why not use Jheri curl rods instead of doing the Bantu Knot. Excited, I two strand twisted and put my rods on the end and went to sleep. Tuesday morning I woke up EXCITED!!!! My thought,"These curls bout to be bomb!!"

Me

That's me. March 2013 to be exact March 17, 2013. This is about the time I was done with my hair. While perm free for over 15 years, I did press my hair religiously every two weeks. But something was changing..... I didn't wanna do that anymore.
Around about May.... I discovered YouTube. I was like the heavens opened up and the Angels began to sing. I found an entire world of natural people. Who are they??? Where did they come from??? Where have they been all my life??? Inspired by the many, many, many hair journeys and amazing healthy hair growth with no heat........ I knew this is what I needed to do.
